Use the ''Show local trailers only'' option

Hello,


There is always a risk with any multimedia device when relying on online resources and being dependent on the good functioning of some providers.

Zidoo offers you an option that allows you not to be dependent anymore.

Another advantage is that in case of a problem in which you would have to rescrape your sources, everything will return to the way it was before.

It will be some work to add the trailers to your movie collection but once that is done you won't have to worry about any problems with the trailer functionality.

There is no one way to do it and I don't know which one is the most efficient and fastest, I'll just show you how I did it

First thing, I donwloaded the trailers I needed using the links below (you may not find all the trailers on one site, you may have to visit several)

(You are free to use the way you want to download them, some people use extension like jdownloader with their Chrome browser for example.)

Most of the trailers are in MP4 or .MOV, both work.

I guess everybody knows how to get a video from youtube or other websites, so I'll skip this point and go to the most important one






Personally I go on yt1s.com website and copy/paste the link of the trailer: https://yt1s.com/fr5

Once this is done, we add the trailer in the folder of the movie and we name the trailer like this: 

''Name of the film''.trailer.mp4.

Example

Name of the video file
Alita Battle Angel (2019) 4k.DV.truehdatmos.mkv

Name of the trailer
Alita Battle Angel (2019) 4k.DV.truehdatmos.trailer.mp4







The content of your folders should be like this

In the options of HT4.0, go to ''Preference'' and activate ''Show local trailers only''




On the movie information page you should have the trailer available.

That's it, it's easy to do, it might be long to do if you have a big collection of movies but there is no rush either, you can do a little bit every day.

3 solutions to have access to your Zidoo from your PC with the option ''SAMBA SERVER'' of your Zidoo device First part Here is my way to have the ZD_SAMBA available on my Network page. It's not recommended because of the lack of security as we use SMB1, but on my private network I don't think it's a problem, plus the performance would be better using SMB2... Widgets with Ht4.0

  I present you the HT4.0 Widgets, we don't talk much about them and yet they are very useful. If you want to have categories such as ''Cartoon'' or ''Family'' or ''Documentary'' that you have created yourself and you want to see them in the main page, Zidoo offers this possibility with its ''Widgets''. --------- Here is an example I created 2 folders ''Concert'' and ''Manga'' in one of my sources and I want to have on the main page of HT4.0. it's easy to do, c lick on the widget with the "+" symbol to add a new widget by choosing a folder in one of your sources.
